Winds of Change

While traveling to share in southern Iowa this weekend we went through my old “stomping grounds.”  When I attended college in Ankeny, I covered this same old path on my trips home.  Now that familiar landscape is dotted with dozens of wind turbines.  For many this is a sign of progress (and probable income), but all I could think about was, “what happened to my old route?”  Don’t get me wrong, I am awed by their majestic height and wing span.  But it was still, “different.”

Scott likened this to how people might see church change.  I think God brought these turbines to my attention so that I can better minister to those being impacted by the winds of change.
